FAQ

Questions about working together

The things people usually want to know before they get in touch.

  • A one-page site is usually around two weeks. A full multi-page website takes four to six weeks, and something with a shop or booking system takes eight to twelve. The honest answer is that it depends most on how quickly you can get me your text and photos: that's usually what decides the timeline, not the building.

  • You send me a message or book a 30-minute call. We talk about your business and what you're hoping for. I'll tell you honestly whether I can help and roughly what it would cost. If it feels like a fit, I send a written proposal with a fixed price. Nothing is charged until you say yes.

  • Most business websites land between €1,000 and €5,000. After our first call you get one fixed price for the whole project, in writing, before anything starts. That price doesn't move unless you ask for something that wasn't in the plan, and I'll always tell you before it does.

  • Yes, on most projects. I set up a simple editor where you can change text, swap photos, update prices and add pages, no technical knowledge needed. Before launch we do a training call, and you get a short written guide. If you'd rather not touch it at all, that's fine too: send me the change and I'll do it.

  • Yes. Launch day is the start, not the end. Every project includes a period of free changes afterwards, and you can message me directly whenever something comes up. Plenty of clients from years ago still email me, and that's how I'd like it to work.

  • Often, yes, and sometimes I'll tell you that you don't need to. I'll look at what you have first and give you an honest opinion. If a redesign makes sense, I keep everything worth keeping, including your Google rankings, and make sure old links still work so you don't lose the traffic you've built up.

  • Yes. I set up shops where managing products, stock and orders is genuinely simple, with the payment methods your customers already use: iDEAL, cards, Apple Pay, and so on. I'll also sit with you until you're comfortable running it yourself.

  • Every website I build has the technical groundwork done properly from the start, which is most of the battle. Beyond that I can research the words your customers actually search for, write your pages around them, and set up your Google Business profile so you appear in local results. It's a slow game, and I'll be straight with you about what to expect.

  • I can help, and most clients want me to. Usually the best result comes from you telling me about your business in your own words (a phone call is enough) and me shaping that into pages that read well. You always approve everything before it goes live.

  • I don't resell hosting, because I'd rather you owned everything yourself. I'll recommend what actually suits your site, set it up in your name on your own account, and handle the technical side. You keep control, you pay the provider directly, and there's no markup from me. If you ever want to work with someone else, nothing is locked to me.

  • Whatever suits you. Most projects run perfectly well over video calls, email and WhatsApp, wherever in the world you are. If you're near Utrecht and you'd rather sit down with a coffee, I'm very happy to. For some people that first conversation is much easier face to face.

  • Then we change it. You see the design before any of it is built, precisely so this is easy and free to fix at that stage. Telling me you don't like something isn't awkward: it's the fastest way to a website you're actually proud of.

  • Not at all, it's most of my clients, and honestly it's the part of the job I enjoy. You're the expert on your business; I'm the expert on the website. You'll never need to learn a technical term to work with me, and no question is too basic.

  • You do. The domain, the hosting, the content and the site itself are all yours, registered in your name. There's no lock-in and no monthly fee required to keep your own website. That matters to me.
