How projects work, written the way I'd explain it on a call rather than the way a contract usually reads.

Quotes and prices
Prices shown on this website are indicative starting points, not offers. Before any work begins you receive a written proposal with a fixed price for the agreed scope. That proposal is valid for 30 days. All prices exclude VAT (BTW) unless stated otherwise.
What's included, and changes
The proposal lists exactly what's being built. If you'd like something that isn't on that list, that's completely fine, I'll tell you what it costs and how it affects the timeline before doing it. Nothing gets added to your invoice as a surprise.
Payment
- 50% when the project starts, 50% when the site goes live.
- Invoices are payable within 14 days.
- Maintenance plans run for a minimum of one year from their start date and can be cancelled at the end of each contract year.
Timelines
The timeline in your proposal assumes content (text, photos, logins) arrives roughly when we agreed. If it takes longer, the launch date moves accordingly. That's not a penalty, just how the work fits together.
Your content
You confirm that you have the right to use any text, images, logos and other material you send me. If I source images on your behalf, I'll tell you what the licence covers.
Ownership
Once the final invoice is paid, the website, its design and its content are yours. Your domain and hosting are registered in your name from the start. There is no lock-in: you can take the site elsewhere at any time, and I'll help hand it over.
I keep the right to show the finished work in my portfolio and to reuse the underlying techniques and components on other projects. If a project is confidential, tell me and it stays off the site.
Unless we agree otherwise, a small “Built by AriWebs” credit appears in the footer of your website.
After launch
Changes after launch are either covered by a maintenance plan or quoted individually.
Third-party services
Hosting, domains, payment providers and similar services are provided by third parties under their own terms. I'll set them up and advise you, but I can't be responsible for their availability or pricing.
Liability
I take the work seriously and stand behind it. That said, liability is limited to the amount invoiced for the project in question, and doesn't extend to indirect losses such as lost revenue. Dutch law applies.
